A Story of Joy

Mills Properties recently joined forces with ARCHS and Provident to work with SWIFT program participants.  Swift is a program designed to help people learn job and life skills in order to find a full-time job in our community.  This program has had a $2.1 million + positive impact for the Missouri economy, a staggering number in the challenging times we are experiencing, and has positively impacted hundreds of lives.  As an employer partner, Mills Properties has provided on-the-job training for several Swift program participants over the last year. 

We are incredibly fortunate to have found Joy through this program.  We are honored to have her as part of our team and thank her for telling her inspiring story.

Like Beer?

It seems that St. Louis is just oozing beer-lovers.  Are you one of them?  Do you always find  yourself ordering the same traditional beer at bars and restaurants?  Would you secretly enjoy ordering a craft beer and when questioned about your choice, actually have intelligent things to say about your out-of-character selection?  Maybe that’s going too far…  Maybe you are just looking for a fun weekend activity in St. Louis. 

Beer fans on all levels may want to check out the St. Louis Microfest – Craft Beer Tasting Festival in Forest Park.  The event begins on Friday, April 30^th and ends on Sunday, May 2^nd and offers both International and American craft beers.  If beer is not your preference, they also offer live music, food, and a few amusing contests and demos.  Check out the schedule and get more information at www.stlmicrofest.org.  All proceeds benefit Lift for Life Gym.

Mills Does It Again!

Mills did it again for the Sixth Time since 1998!  Mills Properties was named Management Company of the Year 2010!  The annual St. Louis Apartment Association’s Rising Star Awards Banquet was held at the Westport Sheraton Chalet on April 23, 2010.  The banquet brings together all multifamily management companies in the St. Louis area for a night of celebration and friendly competition.  The Mills Team was the loudest and most enthusiastic group at the event!  Congratulations to all of our nominees and winners!  Thank you to all of our talented Mills Associates for making our company GREAT- Go Mills!  (See pictures from the evening below)

Add A Buck for Officer Matt Crosby!

 

 

Mills Properties associates and residents are joining forces to help support Officer Matt Crosby!  For those of you unfamiliar with his story, he is a local hero serving the St. Louis community who was recently injured in the line of duty.  Officer Matt Crosby has served on the Rock Hill Missouri Police Department for the last three years.  Earlier this month, Officer Crosby was shot in the shoulder by a suspect and the bullet entered his spine.  He is recovering from surgery but is likely partially paralyzed from the incident.  Mills Properties has asked residents and associates to join us in supporting Officer Matt Crosby, who risked his life to keep St. Louis safe.  Each property is distributing flyers and promoting a program to their residents about Adding-A-Buck to their May rent.  Each property is also gathering donations from Mills associates who have all been truly compelled by Officer Crosby’s story.  All donations collected will go directly to help support Officer Crosby, his wife, and their three young boys in their time of need.  To read more about Officer Crosby click here.  To get updates on his progress, click here.

Move into one of Mills beautiful apartment homes by August 31, 2010 and if you experience a loss of employment, you may break your lease.

 

Mills Properties, Inc. understands that times are uncertain and job security is a fear held by many St. Louisans.  In order to make potential residents more comfortable when leasing, Mills Properties, Inc. is offering a Loss of Employment Pledge.  This pledge will allow our residents who experience job loss, the option to break their lease with only 60 days notice and experience no additional financial penalties.
