Thank you Traci for another great Community Service opportunity!!!
Hello everyone!! 2008 is coming to an end. Have you taken advantage of your Community Service Day yet??
I would like to set up a Community Service Day at the Oregon Food Bank. The facility is on Cornelius Pass and West Union in Beaverton. Equity did this a few years ago and it was a blast, lots of fun!! Remember one of the benefits of working with Equity is that you get one community service day a year. I know many people do not take advantage of this benefit.
The volunteer day is set for 10/28/08 at 1:30-4pm. Please RSVP with your Property Managers approval (attach an e-mail from them approving the day) by 10/21/08. The spaces will fill up fast so respond ASAP!! We only have 10 spots available.
Blood is vital for patient care throughout our area and across the United States. Every day, the American Red Cross must meet the blood needs of accident victims, premature babies, people undergoing treatment for cancer, and other patients in local hospitals. Equity Residential and Palladia is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, September 4th from 2-7 PM. Please call Erica at 503-466-5000 to schedule your donation appointment. Together, we can save a life.
Please contact me by the end of the day Friday. Let me know if you have any questions!!!
Team Happy Feathas made a commitment to build a team for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night® Walk. This is an opportunity for our company to do something good in our community. It is an opportunity for you to help fight cancer by:
•Joining the Light The Night team
•Making a personal contribution
•Raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to use for critical cancer research and services for patients and their families
Light The Night is an evening walk to celebrate and commemorate the lives of people touched by cancer. Walkers hold illuminated balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters, gold in memory of a life lost – and light the night with hope. The Walk culminates in a community celebration with music, refreshments and entertainment – where friends, family members, neighbors, co-workers and others come together to demonstrate their support for cancer patients.
Team members raise funds by encouraging others to contribute. Funds will be used for research to find cures for blood cancers—leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma—and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
As team captain, I encourage you to become involved in this worthwhile endeavor and to give yourself the experience of helping others. You will be glad you joined us. Call me at 503-605-5000or register online at www.lightthenight.org.

Who: Anyone who wants to fight cancer is invited to join. No particular level of fitness is required.
How: We encourage every walker to beat the national average amount (nearly $200) by setting their individual goal to at least $250. I’ll give you information on how to go about it. Our team goal is $1,000.
Why: The need for cures is critical: Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 10 minutes, someone dies. Leukemia is the leading cause of cancer death among children and young adults under the age of 20.
Fundraising Rewards: All participants raising $100 or more will receive an illuminated balloon and a T-shirt to wear during the Walk. Walkers raising $300, $500, $1,000, $2,500 or more can receive other great incentives. Visit www.lightthenight.org for more information on our incentives.
Please join us for this very special evening. Be a part of our team. You’ll enjoy yourself. And you’ll make an important difference in the lives of others.
Light The Night and brighten the future for millions touched by cancer.
Usually we are done with the one mile around noon, the 5k a little later.
To have a team we have to have at least 10 people and a clever team name :)
If we want we can all do different events and still be a team (we can come up with some cute ways to represent our team and dress up (in the past I've seen "breast friends" "cancer conquerors" ect ect)
It's $25 per person (chip timed run is a little more) and we have to be signed up by August 29th AT THE LATEST. Everyone can write a check or I think we might be able to pay individually online.
If people don't want to do the actual race they can do "sleep in for the cure" and donate the money and they will still receive the shirt and pin like the actual racers do.
We can definitely car pool, but in the past we've found the best way to get there is to park and take max.
Please contact Larah if you are interested in joining a team.
It is that time of year again! For the past 3 years Equity has volunteered our time for the LPGA/easter Seals event. I hope we can continue this. Please contact Deb directly if you would like to volunteer for the LPGA this year. Please see her email below! -Julia
The folks at the Safeway Classic LPGA Tournament called today and requested your appearance at…yes, the Concession Stand!
Are you ready for another year of LPGA fun?
When?The Week of August 18-24th.
Where?Columbia Edgewater. (Next year - it will be at Pumpkin Ridge).
Volunteer Job Description: 1. Willing to stand on your feet 4-5 hours (he will give us a break, I hope - and you don't have to do handsprings this year!!)

This year the Concessionaire has asked that our volunteers be willing to Cashier and Assemble Food products. This is a piece of cake for all our Easter Seals volunteers!
