What is Your Favorite Thanksgiving Memory?
Pulling an all nighter into black Friday... no sleep til the shopping was done! Too bad now a days I pass out by 8 :) -Becka Aponte
Always having the traditional 'Honey Baked Ham' and eating way more than my stomach could handle. Then having fantastic leftovers for a week. -Chai Mintz
Thanksgiving 1983, my parents gave me an early Christmas present in the way of a fully tricked out Dallas Cowboy bike! It was awesome. Oh yeah, and the turkey was good too! -Mike Brewer
My favorite Thanksgiving memory is every year, because it is my favorite Holiday. But, if I had to pick one, it would be the year that my family and my dad's side of the family rented a camp area up at Mt. Hood. It is camp to young kids during the spring and summer months, but vacant for Fall and Winter. We rented out the whole camp and the sleeping areas were rooms with 5 sets of bunk beds. There was also a larger building that had a seating area, kitchen area and an upstairs with games and a pool table. We had all just got there for the night from driving from various areas of Oregon, started a fire and was checking out the place. My dad headed up the stairs to check out the game room and a bat came out of the corner and went straight for him. Of course, it startled him and he ran down the stairs. Everyone became frantic and were trying to find ways to catch the bat and get rid of it. We were finally able to get the bat outside and enjoy the rest of our time being with family and eating good food. To add to that, it snowed the rest of the weekend. One of the best Thanksgiving experiences I have had! -Krista Davis
I am not sure if this is the funniest but one of the most memorable. My family surprise visited my grandmother in California for Thanksgiving. She was not in the mood to be having the surprise company or prepare a Thanksgiving meal. That left us to venture out to the only open store (7-eleven) in San Bruno to pick up some turkey cold cuts and triscuits :). Just so happened that as we were strolling through, an individual decided to rob the market at gunpoint. To say the least we made it out and scrounged up some left-overs for a fabulous Thanksgiving meal! Wow. -Juila Riccetti
Thanksgiving with mom and dad. My most memorable Thanksgiving was in November of 1994. My husband and I drove from San Diego California to San Francisco California and had Thanksgiving at the beach house owned by my parents. We had a roaring fire in the fireplace, and slept in sleeping bags because we had no central heat. My mom, my little sister, and I all worked in the kitchen preparing our thanksgiving dinner, and while the turkey was cooking we walked on the beach. I remember the excitement of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a lazy afternoon in front of the TV watching football, spending the day with family and reminiscing and of course the huge dinner my mother so elaborately assembled with such love. It was the last Thanksgiving I ever shared with my mom and dad, since they are both gone and the house is sold. I have pictures of everyone together and am so glad for that special memory that I will forever hold in my heart. -Arlene Guthrie
My favorite Thanksgiving memory is eating, eating, eating and then eating some more with my family. Then I got to go to sleep with an overstuffed belly, and, as you all know sleeping is my favorite pastime :) -Desiree Lee

I
It is difficult to think about Mike and what he has achieved in this portfolio, and then put it into words. I don't think that I could completely describe how he has impacted me- not only as an employee of Equity, but also as a person. I guess, technically speaking, he is my supervisor. He has however, meant much more to me than just that. He has been a friend, a mentor, and a confidante. He has made a dent in my universe, and for that, I will forever be thankful..............
-Misty Johnston
Mike, Thank you for everything you have given to Equity,
your associates and me personally.
I truly appreciate and value our time working together. THX!
-Jim Klein

Mike you will be missed!
Your optimism is always encouraging, your enthusiasm is uplifting and
the upbeat tone in your voice causes one to perk right up!
Enjoy your new endeavors in a new place which you are sure to brighten up!
-Carolyn Coleman
What Mike says about himself:
”I think he is kind of tall.”
I don’t think Mike understand the extent of how much he has impacted,
not only the Portland Portfolio and Equity, my myself as well.
When you’re having a bad day and you pick up that phone and you hear that
voice, “Hey {insert name here} it’s Mike Brewer,”
everything seems to turn right side up and from that time forward and
you’re in a better mood. He actually cares about you and how you are.
He’s just so contagious; his personality, smile, laugh,
and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Good Luck in all that you do Mike. I know that you will succeed!
-Nikki Turner
I've never known anyone who was more a champion of his people than Mike.
-Jennifer Cobb
The one thing I'd like to tell Mike is that it's time to retire your
Accord and buy a new car!
-Tim Jellum
Mike, you have been a huge inspiration to the Portland Portfolio and to me personally. So many good things have happened to us because of you. Whom ever gets the pleasure of working with you will be truly blessed. We will miss your smile, your laugh, and your energy. We will never forget you and I hope you know that we have become better because of you. Just know that each of us has taken something special from your guidance and your wisdom. Thank you for being you. Good luck! We'll all miss you.
"Go Confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined" Quote by: Henry David Thoreau
-Alisha Batchelor
Mike you have always been the guy we look up to, not just literally but, as a great role model. You always have a smile on your face and our upbeat, positive attitude towards everything and it is very contagious. Mike you will be missed, and we wish you all the best in your new beginning.
-Nicole Montierth
Mike who????? Is he that tall guy?
-Stephanie Ogan
Wow! I don't think you need anymore coffee.
-Felecia Richards
Mike is one of a kind! The kindness and respect he offers his fellow associates is unsurpassable. His enthusiasm is contagious! I wish him nothing but luck, health and happiness. He will be forever missed.
-Rosanna Thomas
Mike is a unique individual that possesses an amazing soul. He can see the talent and gifts in people that many times they don’t see in themselves.
He inspires-“breathes the life into” everyone he encounters.
He has done astounding things in Portland and I can only imagine he will continue that in St. Louis. Mike has made a dent in Equity and left a legacy, I feel fortunate to have been a part of it. He will truly be missed but there will always be a part of him in Portland!
-Julia Riccetti
I would tell Mike that he has been a huge inspiration to me. His motivation and enthusiasm is contagious, and he made my experience with Equity so enjoyable! He made the Portland Area "Insanely Great!"
-Susanne Fernald
I truly feel like a piece of Portland's heart will be missing when Mike leaves. He is the spark that ignites our innovative progression and the challenge to do the unthinkable. In many ways I try and suck the energy from him when I can simply to be a better person in life. He is truly a hero to me for his spontaneous and crazy ideas that always come out on top and can't be beat by anyone. I have enjoyed the time I've had with Mike and the pulse he has generated in this company, portfolio but especially in myself to be the best I can. I wish him all the luck in life and his future endeavors.
-Mishell Villalobos
It makes me really sad that Mike is leaving... he is an amazing example of how everyone should be with such enthusiasm and understanding and of course the enormous amount of ENERGY that he brings to this portfolio everyday! Mike will be missed greatly and anyone who follows in his footsteps has some really big shoes to fill (literally)!

What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done?
My senior year in high school I went up in front of the whole school to present our state basketball trophy to the school/principal. I thought my teammates were behind me, but when grabbed the microphone and turned around and I was alone...I stood there for a while and all that came out of my mouth was "Hi".
-Tim Jellum
When I had surgery, and when they were putting me under I guess I was talking to my boss who was by my side before the surgery. Well when they gave me the happy gas to knock me out I started to cry and tell my boss not to let the little blue puppy get hurt and it was getting all wet from the rain. I guess I got a little emotional and started to get mad that she would not go over and pick this blue puppy up and take it in. (yes I know there is no such thing as a blue puppy but at the time I thought that is what I saw) When I got out of surgery 18 hours later, I had a little blue stuffed animal. It was a blue puppy.
For several months my work teased me about the little blue puppy.
-Wendy Backman
I was in Junior High School and my friends and I were at the mall, I had drank a lot of water and had to use the restroom terribly badly! I couldn't even think straight. I frantically looked for the restroom and found it (I'm sure you know where I'm going with this by now) and ran hell-bent into the Men's bathroom. Of course, there were two guys in there who evidently had to to go as badly as I did. I was mortified, as were they, and I quickly ran out of the door: still needing to go to the restroom like crazy!
-Desiree Lee
I broke a light fixture and a fan blade with my head once when I was walking through a friends’ living room.
-Mike Brewer
I was working at a retail store and had on a white pair of pants (it was summertime) and was working as normal. Halfway through my shift, I realized my pants were split in the back...I was extremely embarrassed.
-Anonymous
I was a leasing con. @ Palladia and an older gentlemen gave me he's rent check, and I looked at the check and saw that there was a picture of a cute baby/toddler on it. So I smiled and asked "Oooooohhhhhhhh is this your grand daughter?" (in my obnoxious I love babies voice) he looked at me with out a smile and said "NO it's my daughter". I stood there and wanted to cry but smiled and said Oh! .............Well thank you.........and uhm Ok well thank you and as soon as he left I crawled under my desk. The moral of this lesson never make comments about peoples checks. -Daphne Tappert I was walking down cement stairs with Bradifur (my dog) at Palladia, and he stepped right in front of me. I didn't want to accidently kick him and I am naturally clumsy, so I just fell down the rest of the stairs. -Susanne Fernald
