Seth Godin's post fit our business perfectly, that is with a bit of tweaking:
People don't renew or cancel [give Notice to Vacate for] their cell phone service [apartment] because of the ads (the ads that might have gotten them to sign up [lease] in the first place.) They do it based on the service and the way it makes them feel. And people don't vote to re-elect [renew] a candidate [lease] because of her debate performance or speeches [lip service].
Voters [Residents] decide because of the intense emotion they feel during isolated moments. The challenge of being a politician [property manager], whether you're national [at a 500+ unit class A] or in a tiny village, is the sameāto exceed expectations in the most intense interactions you have each day.
And that is how it's done. I know we have a little work to do, how about you?
